You Can Go Your Own Way (Process)

My beautiful daughter Alyssa. She has always been unique to herself. And one of the traits I admire the most about her is that she is not a follower. I was very proud of her in the younger teen years because of this.

Ok so I've tried my hand at a process video. If I decide to do another I will try to improve on this. I downloaded a simple video app & gave it a go.

It's very simple for now & set to music. Not sure you are all ready for my Brooklynese accent lol. Just kidding (sorta) but I'm not sure how to video live. The simple app I downloaded doesn't have many functions & I'm unsure what app to use. I also take forever to complete a layout, so I would need to speed it up.

I need to look into it, I am considering it for the future though... ;)

Would love to know what you all think. **I do know that next time I'll upload with a higher resolution.**

Thanks so much for looking & watching!

Four Generations

Today I have a layout over on the Come on Get Crafty Blog for their weekly Product Showcase. Today I am showcasing Crate Papers close Knit collection. I used some very special photos for it including a heritage photo of my Nanny & Mama.

For my wedding last year my Aunt gave me a thumb drive with all these pictures of my Mother that I have never seen before. Including the one on the layout. It's of my Grandma (Nanny) & my Mother on her confirmation day. The other photo is of my wedding with my Sister & Daughters. So combine the 2 & you have Four Generations of women. I love this layout so much! I even used some of Mama's buttons from her button collection. I inherited it when she passed. It is one of my most prized possessions. Throughout my childhood I played and stared at these buttons all the time. There was just something about them.

See the buttons? I heart this!

My Mothers father made her that dress for her confirmation & I remember her telling me how much she loved it.

My Mom & Nanny played BINGO all the time so that BINGO die cut is perfect in the cluster by their photo. And see that alteration ticket by the photo of my Sister, Daughters and myself? Well that reminded me of all the dress decidsions and times spent in the 2 bridal salons I used.

I don't normally handwrite on my layouts, but I thought this layout deserved it. Will definitely treasure this layout!

So glad to share this today :)

Pic from Above Layout

Haha this was so funny! Definitely had a good laugh with the stilt walker!
&
LOOK
I hand wrote on my page! Yay me! Still don't like my handwriting but glad that my kids will have it one day. Plus way easy!
I wrote this about a month ago on the SC message board:

"I have been struggling for years to try to like my handwriting so I could write directly on my pages. I always either type it or hide it in or behind something. I've practiced & practiced through the years. Over the last month or so I have started using the pen I like for scrapbook journaling (uni-ball) for everything I write. I mean everything...even when I jot a short list. I have been writing everything in capital letters too. It's really been helping me after all these years of trying different things. Still not confident to write directly my pages yet. But I'm way close. Just figured I'd share, maybe it will work for you too. :)"

I guess I got my confidence :)

Like Mother Like Daughter Layout

For my wedding my Aunt Rosie gave me one of the best gifts. Photos of my Mom when she was young. You know for a scrapper how big that was. Especially since she passed on three years ago. I never seen most of these pictures she had. It was a great gift!

Well as I'm skimming through them I see this picture of my Mother (the one on left) I almost fell out of my chair, literally. I knew I looked like my Mom but holy smokes batman! I immediately remembered the picture taken of me. (the one on right) When I put them next to each other the resemblance was uncanny. The tilt of the head, the hair, the eyes...one is shaped different then the other, the shape of the face...just so much alike!

When I was printing this picture out last night, for fun I superimposed them on one another....Wow!

I now understand why my Aunts & Uncles look at me that way sometimes.

Miss you so much Mama xoxoxo I'm a lucky girl to look just like you!

Just for fun....this is the superimposed photo :) Can you see it?
